60% Of People Have Yelled At Their Computers At Least Once
If you find yourself yelling at your computer, take heart. You are definitely not alone. Bad software it seems continues to be a big pain for lots of computer users and many are venting their frustration through the tried and tested method of shouting.
This is according to some research conducted by Trackvia, an alarming number of people still can’t enjoy their computing experience due in large part to inefficiencies in their software. A whopping 60% said that they have had to yell at their computer at least once in the past year, while a very high 29% said they wasted at least 3 hours per month on software issues. 17% of those surveyed were so annoyed by these problems; they even went as far as to consider quitting their jobs.
In terms of overall productivity, only 9% of people surveyed considered software and their computer as helping them be the most productive possible. These are very low numbers indeed and the study overall has received mixed reviews from IT users. From my perspective, I would argue that whilst the numbers may be low, there is some element of ‘truth’ behind them. Software applications still aren’t perfect and the constant evolution of the process and of use (Cloud-computing being one of them), makes settling down with decent software difficult at times.
Do you have sufficiently bad software and IT problems that you sometimes shout? Share your experience below.
